You never want to hear that. Wrestlers are finely trained athletes but unfortunately there is no way to guarantee their safety in the ring. At some point someone is going to get hurt and there is not much of a way around it. That is the kind of thing that happens every so often and it can lead to some changes in scheduling. It has happened again, but the wrestling won’t be impacted.
Fozzy has announced that due to Chris Jericho suffering a throat injury at AEW Quake By The Lake when he was defeated by Jon Moxley. As a result, the band will be forced to postpone the first two weeks of its upcoming tour, with the dates being moved to spring 2023. Jericho is not expected to miss any ring time and is scheduled to face Bryan Danielson on Sunday at AEW All Out.
Opinion: What matters here is that Jericho is healthy enough to stay in the ring but it is a shame that he is injured and going to have to miss time from his biggest side project. Fozzy has become a big enough deal that they are on a regular tour in front of a lot of fans and you don’t want to see someone put on the shelf from something that has taken this much work to build.
What do you think of Jericho? Who do you want to see him face in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
