Maybe not? There is a lot of news floating around in the wrestling world and some of it does not always wind up coming true. Sometimes you will hear about a wrestler doing something or going somewhere and it isn’t exactly what is going on. That can happen more often than it should and sometimes you get more clarity later. It seems that has happened again with a wrestling rumor.

Earlier today, a rumor broke about Malakai Black requesting his release from AEW. However, according to Fightful Select, this story is NOT TRUE. While Black had been unhappy with how things were going in AEW, the situation has mainly been smoothed over and Black is staying with AEW. Black is currently scheduled to wrestle in a six man tag on Sunday’s All Out pay per view.

Opinion: This does make a bit more sense, as it was a bit strange to imagine someone in as prominent of a position as Black wanting out. While I could see him wanting to return to WWE, there is no guarantee that he would be a star. Black is being given a nice push in AEW and it would be quite the risk of leaving to head back to WWE where he was barely ever used.

What do you think of Black? Will he return to WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
