It can happen to the best of them. Injuries are going to happen to everyone at some point in wrestling. No matter how good they are in the ring, there is no way for wrestlers to be 100% safe. You could slip, land wrong, or just have something go out at the wrong time. It happens to everyone and sometimes it is on a bigger stage than others. That was the case over the weekend.

The Royal Rumble is one of the wildest and most insane matches you will see in wrestling. With so many people running around at once and so many fresh wrestlers working with ones who have been out there a little bit longer, there is a chance for someone to get injured. As usual, this can be the case of a fluke and that seems to be what happened at this year’s event.

According to PWInsider.com, AJ Styles may have suffered a separated shoulder during the Royal Rumble. The injury seemed to come as AJ took a spear from Edge. Soon after the spear, a referee spoke to Edge, who eliminated Styles only a few seconds later. Styles is being checked out as of Monday and there is no word on when we will know if he will be missing ring time. Styles did not appear on this week’s Monday Night Raw.

It was a lot of this. Check out some of Edge’s spears:

Opinion: I really hope that this isn’t a bad injury but you never can tell with something like this. Styles is a very valuable asset to WWE as he can have a good match against anyone and is almost a living legend. What matters most right now is getting him healthy again, as we are less than ten weeks away from WrestleMania. That’s the most important thing at the moment as Styles would be a big loss for the show.
