Timing. The introduction of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as there is now another large scale promotion where wrestlers can find work. That can be very enticing to stars who might be done with WWE and it has led to some surprising debuts. While not yet confirmed, the stars may be aligning for another such debut from an all time star.

Last month, Edge wrestled what he described as the final match of his current WWE contract. While he was out of matches with WWE, there was still some time left on his deal. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge’s WWE deal expires this coming Saturday. As a result, Edge would be allowed to show up at AEW WrestleDream on Sunday. This comes after Edge has been rumored to go to AEW, but a move has NOT been confirmed. There is also still a chance that Edge and WWE could come to terms on a new deal.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could make for some interesting discussions and it wouldn’t shock me to see Edge show up at WrestleDream. Edge coming to AEW could lead to a few different things, but we have to wait and see if he actually shows up in the first place. It might not be at WrestleDream and it might not even take place at all, but now at least the option is there.
