He’s in? There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to break into the industry and some of them have been more successful than others. One of the most hit or miss ways is for a wrestler to have a family member in the industry, with some second generation wrestlers becoming major stars in the industry. Now WWE seems to be trying with another second generation star who has been around elsewhere.

This week on NXT, a vignette aired showing an unseen man watching television, including clips of the Cincinnati Bengals and early 1990s WCW footage. While not confirmed, this suggests that the vignette is for Brian Pillman Jr., whose father was seen in the Bengals clip, and wrestled in WCW. Pillman Jr. reportedly signed with WWE earlier this month but has yet to appear on television or in the ring.

Pillman Jr. has the potential. Check out the vignette, what he has done in AEW, plus what his dad did in WWE:

Opinion: This is something that could go in a few different directions, as Pillman Jr. felt like someone who could be a bigger and more successful star outside of AEW. Maybe the time in developmental can do him a lot of good, as he certainly has the family name and look to be a big deal. IF nothing else, they are certainly leaning into his lineage with the vignette and that is a smart way to go.

What did you think of the vignette? How will Pillman Jr. do in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
