It’s the logical way to go. There are a lot of different kinds of matches in wrestling and some of them are more interesting than others. Sometimes you can find a stipulation that works perfectly for a match and it is the only way to go. When you get a match like that, you can be in for something special and everything winds up working out very well. That may be the case in the future.
One of the better stories in WWE over the last year has been the rivalry between Andrade and Rey Mysterio. The two have battled in a feud built around a legend vs. the next generation of wrestlers from Mexico and that has created some great matches and moments. However, there has been one major match that has yet to take place but Mysterio seems interested.
Mysterio was recently interviewed by TV Insider and talked about a potential mask vs. hair match against Andrade, possibly at WrestleMania 36. Mysterio said that the match would be a huge stepping stone for either of them and could create a WrestleMania moment. The two have wrestled several times in the last several months, including a ladder match earlier this month. Such a match, known as a lucha de apuesta (betting match) in Mexico, is the most important stipulation in lucha libre with such matches often headlining major shows. There is no word on WWE having any plans in running the match at this point, or if Andrade himself is interested.
These two went at it in a heck of a ladder match. Check out some of the carnage:
Opinion: This would seem to be the next logical step should the feud be continuing, but I’m not sure if there is any need for it to keep going. The ladder match was one of the most definitive ways to end a feud that they could have had and I don’t know if there is a reason to continue things for another two and a half months. I’m sure the match would be good, but does it make sense at this point?
