That’s a fast turnaround. The Royal Rumble has come and gone and that means it is time to start getting ready for WrestleMania 37. With the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches out of the way, we have a good idea of what some of the bigger matches are going to be. Edge and Bianca Belair won the Royal Rumbles and that means they have decisions to make. One decision has already been made.
The big draw of the Royal Rumble is the winners receiving the World Title matches at WrestleMania 37 in April. Once the matches are won, the big question becomes which champion the winners will choose. There has been no word on which champion the winners will be facing and while there is still a chance that something could change before then, one of the matches has been decided.
According to F4WOnline.com, Edge will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 37. There is no word on when the match will be decided, but Edge has been announced for an appearance on this week’s SmackDown. Edge appeared on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw where he spoke with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, but did not announce that he would be challenging McIntyre.
Opinion: This was the match that I expected from Edge after he won the Royal Rumble, if nothing else due to how awesome the build should go. There is quite a story to have with Edge having never lost his World Title back in 2011, plus the battle of the spears, which WWE certainly seems to like. Edge isn’t going to be around much longer, but at least he is going to get to do something like this on the biggest stage.
