That’s a new kind of dream match. In WWE, there is a huge gap between the main roster and NXT. The talents only occasionally interact and for the most part, neither show ever acknowledges the other. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some interesting matches there as NXT fans would be curious to see how some of their favorites would fare up against main roster talent. But what does the main roster talent thing of some NXT names?

The pick might surprise you a bit.

John Cena reveals his dream NXT opponent: WWE Now

Recently at a convention in Orlando, Florida, John Cena was asked who he would like to face out of Adam Cole, Ricochet or Velveteen Dream. Cena actually chose Dream, as explained in a video posted to WWE’s YouTube channel. In the same video, a tweet from the Rock was shown, praising Ricochet’s athletic abilities. At the moment, Dream is scheduled to face Ricochet in a match at next month’s Takeover: Chicago II.

In case you haven’t seen it, check out this AWESOME athletic display that set up Ricochet vs. Dream from last night’s NXT.

Ricochet crazy flip outside to confront Velveteen Dream | WWE NXT

Opinion: I know it doesn’t mean anything (at least at the moment) but it’s cool to see Cena knowing something about NXT. The talent down there has some serious potential, even if the idea of Velveteen Dream on the main roster makes me very sad. If WWE does things the right way, they could be set for talent for a very long time. Or they could waste the whole thing and come off looking like screwups. I mean, rich screwups thanks to the TV deals but screwups nonetheless.

Which of those three would you want to see Cena face? How cool was Ricochet’s flip? Let us know in the comments below.
