The battle rages on. The Wednesday Night Wars have turned into one of the more entertaining aspects of the wrestling week. NXT and AEW Dynamite have gone head to head for almost a year now with Dynamite getting the better of things most weeks, at least from a viewership perspective. The NBA and NHL Playoff schedules have caused some issues for both shows, but that isn’t stopping NXT over the next two weeks.
One of the interesting things to see about the shows is the breakdown of each segment. Both shows have a tendency to try and counter the other show’s selection and it can often be interesting to see the breakdown of what worked and what didn’t work. There are segments on one show that blow the other out of the water, but this time around it might not work as well.
SyFy’s television schedule is listing NXT airing on September 2 and September 9 from 8pm to 10pm, putting them against AEW Dynamite. These shows will be repeats, as NXT is airing on Tuesday September 1 and Tuesday September 8 due to USA’s coverage of the NHL Playoffs in the usual Wednesday time slot. SyFy and the USA Network are both owned by NBC.
SyFy has aired WWE programming before. Check out how things went on the network:
Opinion: There is something amusing about these companies going out of their way to mess with each other. AEW showed their full All Out pay per view over the course of two weeks to counter NXT and now NXT is running repeats of its own to mess with Dynamite. I’m no sure how much damage this is going to do to Dynamite, but it is funny to see what a battle this has turned into.
