Strike while the iron is hot. Over Wrestlemania weekend, one of the stories that has flown under the radar was Drew McIntyre signing with NXT. McIntyre has been wrestling around the world since his release from WWE in 2014. Since then, his profile has risen to a much higher level and he was the big surprise of “Takeover: Orlando”. Now we know an important detail about the signing.
According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com,
McIntyre’s contract with WWE is only for one year. While there is no mention of an option to extend the deal, it is entirely possible that it could be extended if both parties agree. McIntyre wrestled for WWE from 2007 to 2014, winning the Intercontinental and Tag Team Titles, followed by a two year run in TNA where he won the World and Grand Championships.
Opinion: The more I see of Galloway, the more impressed I am. He’s 31 years old, has over fifteen years of experience, looks and acts like a star and has the work to back all of it up. Think having a Scottish wrestler with those credentials could help them make an impact in the UK wrestling market?
