Never Before: Special First Time Ever Match Set For Next Week’s SmackDown

That’s a new one. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and only a few of them reach the top of the ladder. Those are the names who are often the featured stars of the company and it can be a big deal when they are put together in a match. That is going to be what we see next week and it is something we have never seen before.

This week on SmackDown, Edge made a surprise appearance for an in-ring speech. Edge said that since he would be around for his 25th anniversary celebration and wanted to have a first time ever match against Sheamus. Edge talked about how Sheamus helped prepare him for his return to the ring after his nine year hiatus. Sheamus then came to the ring and accepted the challenge, while telling Edge that he hoped he didn’t make a mistake. The two actually teased a match earlier this year.

It was a cool moment. Check out the segment, plus the two in action:

Opinion: It might not be a dream match that everyone was asking for but it makes for an interesting setup. What matters here is having what could be a rather fun match and the two of them seem to be rather good friends outside of the ring. I’m not sure if this is going to be the start of a feud, but at the very least they should be having a special match on a special night.
