Can you blame her for being upset? Jon Moxley and Renee Young are one of the most interesting situations in all of wrestling. Young is a former commentator for Monday Night Raw and still appears on WWE Backstage every single week. At the same time, Moxley, Young’s husband, is one of the top stars in AEW. Therefore, when one of them is rolled onto a board of mousetraps, the other might be upset. This might require some more information.
Moxley and Kenny Omega faced off in the final match at AEW Full Gear in a lights out, unsanctioned match, featuring all kinds of weapons and violence. This included a web of barbed wire, a barbed wire broom, a bag of broken glass and the aforementioned mousetrap board. As you might expect, Young was not happy with some of what her husband went though, but how did he think she reacted?
Moxley was interviewed by 101 WKXQ (Chicago radio station) and described Young’s reaction as “over-dramatic”, saying that there were certain things that were just going to happen when he got in the ring. He made it clear that while he has gotten better about making bad decisions in life, he is still someone who is going to take some risks. That means there are going to be moments that make you uncomfortable but they are just going to happen.
Moxley has a lot to say. Check out the full interview, with a bunch more good stuff:
Opinion: I can see both sides of this, as the match was one of the more violent and over the top ones in recent memory in mainstream wrestling. Young did not seem to take things all that well in the first place and that is understandable, though you kind of know what you are getting into with Moxley. That isn’t likely to change, but it doesn’t make the match any less intense.
What did you think of the match? Should Young have been worried? Let us know in the comments below.
