Rapid fire. We are on the road to AEW’s Revolution and that means things are going to start picking up in a hurry. The show is taking place in less than a month and that means AEW needs to start picking up the pace for the build. With so little time left, AEW has a lot of work left to do, but they took care of some of it this week on Dynamite by adding in some new matches.
The big story from this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite came at the end of the show when World Champion Kenny Omega announced that he would face Jon Moxley in an exploding ring deathmatch. That is quite the huge main event for Revolution but that was not the only match announced this week. AEW added some more matches to the card and some of them are pretty important deals.
Two more matches were set for Revolution during this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. First, Adam Page will face Matt Hardy, with the winner receiving the loser’s first quarter earnings for the year. Later in the show, Cody Rhodes announced a six man ladder match with the winner receiving a future TNT Title match. Also announced for the match are Penta El Zero Miedo and Scorpio Sky with three more participants to be announced.
Opinion: These are the kind of matches that you need to add into a card in a hurry at times and, along with the main event, it makes things feel more important in a single night. Almost every company has to do something like this at times so it’s hardly a bad idea. Hopefully the show winds up working out, as there are still a few more matches that need to be added but what we have so far is looking fine.
