There’s room for one more. We’re coming up on Summerslam with less than a week to go before one of the biggest show of the year. If there is one thing that WWE has shown the ability to do, it is to add as many matches as they can at the last minute. That is the case again, but this time around they have waited until almost the last possible minute to add a title match.
This week on 205 Live, Oney Lorcan won a Six Pack Challenge to become the new #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Title. Lorcan defeated Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Akira Tozawa, Kalisto and Jack Gallagher to earn a shot at champion Drew Gulak on Sunday at Summerslam. This is Lorcan’s first shot at the title and his first singles match against Gulak in WWE.
Lorcan has been on a role of late. Check out one of his more dominant performances:
Opinion: Lorcan vs. Gulak is the match that makes the most sense here as Lorcan has been built up over the last several weeks and was the most logical move, especially given how little time they had to set everything up. This is as good as it can get given the circumstances and the match should be quite good given how strong Lorcan has been over the last few weeks.
