Catch you down the road? AEW has done a lot of good things for the wrestling world, with one of the biggest positives being serving as a place for talent to shine on the big stage. There are only so many people who can fit into WWE and that means the spots are limited. That is made a little bit better by AEW, but one name is not interested in returning there, at least for the time being.

There are some wrestlers who have every tool that you need to become a star and those people are very rare. That is the case with Jeff Cobb, who has a unique look, all kinds of power, wrestled in the Olympics, and has a resume to go with everything else. AEW certainly thought something of him and brought him in to face Jon Moxley in February. Cobb hasn’t been back since and there is a reason for that.

In an interview with Fightful, Cobb said that he has not been back to work for AEW as he did not like the way the state of Florida is handling the Coronavirus. Cobb praised the company and did not turn down a suggestion of working more dates for them in the future. Since his match with Moxley on February 19, Cobb has mainly worked in California for New Japan and in German for WXW.

It was nice while it lasted. Check out Cobb’s AEW match:

Opinion: I can’t blame him one bit for this line of thinking. Florida has indeed been a mess with everything involving the Coronavirus and there is nothing wrong with thinking of your health first. Cobb is a special kind of talent and knows that he will have a lot of companies fighting over him when things are back to normal. That’s a lot of power to have and there is no need to rush things.

What do you think of Cobb’s decision? Where will he wind up? Let us know in the comments below.
