They’re already back. NXT Takeover has gone from being what felt like a one off idea to one of the most well received series of wrestling shows of all time. It seems almost impossible for the series to produce a bad match and that makes for some rather high expectations. The pace of the shows have picked up a little bit over the last year or so and that seems to be the case again.

One of the biggest problems with any wrestling promotion, or any form of entertainment for that matter, is presenting too much of the same thing. At some point the return on investment goes down and that can certainly be the case with presenting wrestling shows over and over. Takeover has managed to avoid that problem so far, but it might become a problem in the near future.

According to PWInsider.com, the next NXT Takeover after Takeover: XXX on August 22 will take place on Sunday October 4. This is just over six weeks between the two shows, as compared to the two and a half months between Takeover: In Your House and Takeover: XXX or the three and a half months between Takeover: Portland and Takeover: In Your House. There is no word on any matches planned for the show or where the event will be held.

Takeover has quite a history. Check out what has happened there over the years:

Opinion: That’s quite the fast turnaround and I’m not sure if that is the best idea. At the end of the day, Takeover works out the best when they have time to set things up. I’m sure they can do something in six weeks, but it might take away some of the special feeling that comes with the show. Hopefully everything works out, but if they are doing the October show and then another over Survivor Series weekend, things are going to get busy in a hurry.
