The legend goes down the road. Every now and then, a wrestler becomes a cult figure and becomes a big deal despite having no business being in that spot. It makes for some great moments and while they may not last very long, someone can get a huge rub out of such a short run. That was the case earlier this year in AEW but now it is time for someone to be moving on.
Earlier this year, Suge D. made his AEW debut. That name might not mean much to you, and it certainly did not mean much to Chris Jericho either. Due to reasons of being Jericho, he dubbed Suge D. Pineapple Pete and spent weeks on commentary ranting about his hatred for Pete every time he was on screen. This led to a short match with Jericho defeating Pete, and now it is time to change.
On Tuesday night, Pete announced that he was leaving AEW on Twitter. Pete made it clear that he had no issues with AEW and that he knew his time with the company was not going to last forever. This came after Pete lost a six man tag on the August 11 Dark, dropping his career record to 0-8 in AEW. There is no word on where Pete will be going next and AEW has not commented on his departure.

Pete did well with what he did in AEW. Check out some of his time there:
Opinion: This is hardly surprising as I don’t think Pete was ever going to become a top star in AEW. That isn’t a knock on his abilities or talents but at the same time, he was mainly known for what should have been a one off Jericho joke. Pete will be able to live for years off of this on the indy circuit and that is more than a lot of other people are going to be able to do.
