Stick around for a bit. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works in a good way. For the first time in far too long, there is a top level wrestling company with national television every single week. That is the kind of thing that can make WWE think twice about some wrestlers, as they are not going to want them heading to AEW. The worry was on display this week as WWE re-signed one of their better prospects.

Every now and then you see a wrestler who just has it. You know it from the second that you see them and there is no denying the talent that is there. It might take some time for that talent to properly develop, but they can become something big if they are given the proper chance. Now one young WWE star is going to get that chance for the next few years to come.

According to Fightful Select, WWE has re-signed Riddle to a multi year deal, guaranteeing him $400,000 a year, plus $50,000 for every Saudi Arabia show. Riddle’s previous deal was scheduled to expire in August 2021 and the company wanted to get him signed before the end of the year. Riddle is currently expected to challenge Bobby Lashley for the United States Title at some point in the near future.

Opinion: That’s something WWE probably should have taken care of earlier but what matters is getting pen to paper. Riddle is someone who has all the tools to become a top star in WWE and if he is going to be sticking around for the long term, it is certainly a good thing for WWE. I can’t imagine Riddle minding the large paychecks that come with it, so hopefully both sides are happy.
