Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill Main Event Changed At Last Minute

Impact does say card subject to change. Wrestling is in a weird place at the moment as there are only so many ways to present a weekly show at the moment. The Coronavirus pandemic has shaken things up in a huge way and there is little reason to believe that things are going to be that much better in the immediate future. That is in addition to all of the run of the mill changes that can take place at a wrestling event, which seems to be the case again.

One of the more interesting stories from the end of 2020 was AEW’s Kenny Omega invading Impact Wrestling. That is not the kind of move that you see very often but Omega is making it work. This includes joining forces with the Good Brothers to face Impact Wrestling World Champion Rich Swann and the Motor City Machine Guns at Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view, but things have been shaken up a bit.

Impact Wrestling has announced that Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns has been removed from the Hard To Kill main event due to “unavoidable circumstances.” Moose, the #1 contender to Swann’s Impact Wrestling World Title will be replacing Shelley in the match. Moose did not have a match scheduled for the show in advance. There is no word on why Shelley will be unable to appear at the show.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to happen every now and then and there is nothing else that can be done. Moose is the most logical replacement that Impact Wrestling had, but it isn’t like Swann and company were being treated as a serious threat to Omega and the Good Brothers in the first place. The match should work out just fine, and that’s as good as you can ask for under these circumstances.
