It’s a speedy title followup. You never know what you’re going to see in the way of upsets in wrestling. Granted, since upsets are surprises, they aren’t supposed to be the kind of things that you see coming. They can change a wrestler’s career trajectory and set them up for something big in the future though, and that’s what happened last week. Now though, WWE is going somewhere with it.
What did the upsetter have to say? Check out this title match announcement:
In a new video posted to WWE’s YouTube page after this week’s SmackDown Live, Mandy Rose announced that she would be facing SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka for the title at Fastlane. This match is taking place after Rose defeated Asuka last week in a non-title match in a major upset. The upcoming match will be Rose’s first one on one title shot in WWE.
Opinion: This makes sense, even if it might not be the match that some fans want to see. At the end of the day, there isn’t much for Asuka to do right now as two of the main women she could be facing are over on Monday Night Raw in the biggest story in the history of the women’s division. Rose seems to be little more than a challenger of the month and that’s fine, as it’s all she should be at the moment.
