It makes things more even. We are less than a week away from Survivor Series and that means the card needs to be mostly set. Thankfully that is the case for the big show, with only some names needing to be announced for the matches that have already been made. With that being said, there is always room to adjust a few more matches for whatever will make them a little bit better. That is the case with one match that needed a way to even things out a bit and that is exactly what happened.
One of the main events of Survivor Series will see reigning WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defending against Rey Mysterio. The feud started when Lesnar attacked Mysterio and hit son Dominick for little reason other than he felt like it. Mysterio has gone on to fight back against Lesnar, occasionally with the assistance of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez. At some point Mysterio has to fight on his own though, and that is going to be the case in a different way on Sunday.
This wasn’t a good idea. Here’s how everything to started:
This week on Monday Night Raw, Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman issued a challenge to Mysterio to make their match No Holds Barred, with Mysterio accepting a few minutes later. This comes after Mysterio attacked Lesnar with a pipe earlier this month and possibly injured Lesnar’s knee. Mysterio held up the pipe after agreeing to the stipulation and made it clear that he would be bringing it with him on Sunday.
He sounds ready to me. Check out Mysterio’s challenge to Lesnar:
Opinion: This is something that makes a lot of sense and is a good move for the match. There are only so many things that you can have happen to make Mysterio a believable challenger to Lesnar and this is as good as anything they have. Mysterio can do a lot of things in a No DQ situation and it could make him believable as a possible fluke winner. That’s a fine way to go and we could be in for a heck of an underdog match.
