Those are some nice incentives. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler won the Intercontinental Title from Seth Rollins in a pretty big surprise. This came less than two months after Ziggler was paired with the returning Drew McIntyre, who was one of the hottest returns on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 34. At the same time, Ziggler’s WWE contract is about to expire, which you would think might be connected to these two developments. Well that seems to be the case.

According to PWInsider Elite Audio by way of Ringsidenews.com, Ziggler has still not signed a new contract with WWE and his current deal expires at some point this summer. Pairing Ziggler with McIntyre was designed to give Ziggler something to do in order to get him to sign a new deal so he wouldn’t think that he would be forgotten again after signing a new contract. The Intercontinental Title reign is considered to be the same kind of incentive.
Ziggler was in a major match this week and it’s worth seeing.
Opinion: I’m not a Ziggler fan by any stretch and would be rather pleased if he was gone from the company. I’ve spent years watching WWE try to turn him into something and it just doesn’t work no matter what they’ve done so far. I’m not sure if this is finally the big move that will get him back over to the level that WWE thinks he can reach but I’m rather tired of seeing them try to make it work. McIntyre doesn’t need Ziggler and I really hope he’s not being used as a way to get Ziggler over, because he deserves far better.
Do you think this is going to be the big cure for Ziggler? Is it a waste of McIntyre? Let us know in the comments below.
