Ouch, in more than one way. Earlier this week, a previously announced United States Title match between champion Jeff Hardy and challenger Shinsuke Nakamura was canceled at the last minute due to Nakamura suffering an injury. It turned out that the injury was caused by a police dog biting Nakamura on the leg before a house show on Monday night. The injury was severe enough that Nakamura wasn’t cleared to wrestle, but just how long might he be out?

According to Wrestling Observer Radio by way of Ringsidenews.com, Nakamura’s injury may be severe enough to keep him out of the ring even longer. Nakamura may be held off of the WWE’s upcoming two day tour of Japan, taking place on Friday June 29 and Saturday June 30 in Tokyo. There is no word on when Nakamura will be back in the ring, though he has not been officially ruled out for any further shows.

Here’s what Nakamura might be focusing on when he comes back to the ring.

Shinsuke Nakamura promises to close Jeff Hardy's eyes: SmackDown LIVE, June 19, 2018

Opinion: Well dang. That’s one of the most insane injuries I’ve ever heard of and now it’s a shame that Nakamura can’t even get to go and wrestle in his home country as a returning star. All because of a dog seemed to have gone a bit nuts and attacked him. Hopefully Nakamura is back on his feet (literally) quickly and gets to wrestle not only in Japan, but also for the US Title that would be a nice victory for him.
