It’s slowly expanding. Extreme Rules is less than three weeks away and the card is slowly starting to grow. With a few matches already announced, we probably had about a third of the card coming into this week. The WWE Championship match and Raw Women’s Championship match were already announced, but that leaves a lot of ground left to cover. This week’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live saw those numbers more than doubled with several new matches announced.

This came as a surprise.

Daniel Bryan vs. Harper: SmackDown LIVE, June 26, 2018

During this week’s two main television shows, three more title matches were announced for the card. On Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt would defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against the B Team in an opportunity that the B Team earned by winning a tag team battle royal earlier this month. On SmackDown Live, SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella was confirmed to be defending against Asuka again, along with the Bludgeon Brothers defending the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against the reformed Team Hell No. Extreme Rules takes place on Sunday, July 15.

Opinion: While these might not be the biggest matches in the world, they’re certainly matches that need to be added to help fill out the card. You can only have main event level matches near the top of the card so stuff like this helps quite a bit. One thing though: none of these matches (or the other two actually) are extreme. None of them have any gimmicks attached and while there is still time to add those in, it would make sense to have some of these gimmicks announced in advance.
