It had been previously reported that Shinsuke Nakamura would be unable to compete on Smackdown Live tonight, due to an injury that he sustained yesterday.

But how did this happen?

According to a report from PWInsiderthe reason for Nakamura’s absence was because he was bitten by a dog at yesterday’s Smackdown Live Event in Bakersfield, California.

A law enforcement canine was being brought around different parts of the building, as a part of a pre-show security check.  When the dog was brought past Nakamura, it sniffed him and then proceeded to bite him on the leg for some reason.

Shinsuke Nakamura promises to close Jeff Hardy's eyes: SmackDown LIVE, June 19, 2018

It is unknown at this time if he will miss any in-ring action due to this incident. We will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates as they become available to us.

Editor’s Opinion:

Dang, that sucks. I hope that Nakamura doesn’t have too serious of an injury; that could get really messy. Also, there was probably nothing he could do, as his low blow tactic might not have been effective in this situation.
