You can still add something. Takeover has become one of the most revered series of wrestling shows in the world and there is a good reason for that. In addition to having a strong series of matches, they have also figured out the formula to make the shows work, including how many matches the show should have. That is the case again as something else has been added.
One of the biggest matches at this Saturday’s Takeover: XXX will be a five way ladder match for the vacant North American Title. A series of triple threat matches were held to determine the field, but Dexter Lumis hurt his ankle, meaning someone needed to take his place. Eventually this led to Velveteen Dream vs. Finn Balor for a spot in the match, but this did not go well, and the fallout will take place at Takeover.
WWE has announced that Balor vs. Timothy Thatcher has been added to the Takeover: XXX card. This comes after Thatcher interfered in the match and cost Balor the win and a spot in the title match. Thatcher had been involved in the triple threat qualifying match won by Lumis and took the fall, meaning that he was not in the next qualifying match. This will be their first ever singles match.
They do have a history. Check out how we got here:
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise and that’s not a bad thing. You could see that this was going to be added to some show in the future when Thatcher cost Balor the match and this Takeover could use the boost. I could go for seeing these two beat the heck out of each other for fifteen minutes and Takeover knows how to do a grudge match. I’m not even sure which way the match goes and that makes it even better.
