There isn’t room for everyone. Over the last few weeks, there have been very few stories that have received as much attention as the Rusev/Bobby Lashley/Lana love triangle. The story may or may not be the most popular thing in the world (though there is a lot to be said about it), but it is certainly something that is taking place. At the same time though, there has been one thing lacking from the actual story: a match between Lashley and Rusev. There is a reason that hasn’t been announced for Survivor Series just yet.
As of nine days before Survivor Series, there has not been a match announced between Rusev and Lashley. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason for this is due to the card already has a lot going on, with the company thinking the company feels “overloaded”. At the moment there are two five on five on five Survivor Series matches, which will require anywhere from ten to fourteen falls each, plus multiple triple threat matches and a WWE Championship match. Rusev and Lashley have not been announced for any match on the show so far.
It has been a big feud so far. Check out some of the highlights:
Opinion: I know it’s annoying, but at the same time it makes a lot of sense. There is only so much room on any given card and this year’s Survivor Series is going to have so much on it already. If nothing else, the entrances for the five on five on five matches alone are going to take a long time if the teams come out individually. Rusev vs. Lashley may not be the most popular story in the world but they deserve a chance on a show where it won’t feel like they are stapled on. If nothing else, maybe they can be on the Monday Night Raw Survivor Series team for some antics, but let them have some time somewhere.
