They said that would happen. The WWE women’s divisions have started to pick up a lot in recent months as there has been a new group of wrestlers stepping up. That can make for some great moments and matches, with some fresh matchups taking place for a change. Hopefully that will be the case again later this month, as we now have a title match set for Elimination Chamber.
One of the bigger stories on Monday Night Raw in recent weeks has been the issue between Charlotte and her father, Ric Flair. After yelling at Flair for costing her a match, Charlotte has gotten even angrier at her father for his new relationship with Lacey Evans. This did not go well and Charlotte wanted some revenge on Evans. Things did not go well for Charlotte though as it kind of blew up in her face.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Evans defeated Charlotte via DQ when Charlotte shoved the referee. As per pre-match stipulations, the win over Charlotte granted Evans a Raw Women’s Title shot against Asuka at Elimination Chamber, with the match being set up later in the night. Evans has challenged for the title in the past but has never actually won the championship.
This didn’t go as planned. Check out how Charlotte and Evans got here:
Opinion: This feels like it is setting up Charlotte vs. Evans for the title at WrestleMania, which is not exactly the most thrilling story in the world. Charlotte has won Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles time after time and it doesn’t exactly feel like an interesting thing to see again. Throw in the fact that it feels like a Charlotte vs. Flair story than anything about Evans, but one title is better than nothing.
