There’s your main event. The Royal Rumble was just over a week ago and that means Elimination Chamber is less than two weeks away. The show is one of the bigger stops remaining on the Road to WrestleMania 37 and therefore we are going to need some big matches to put on the card. Luckily the show is built around the biggest structure WWE has to offer and now we know who will be inside.

The Elimination Chamber has been around for over eighteen years and it is one of the easiest concepts in WWE today: take six wrestlers or teams, put them inside and the last one standing wins. Yes the details are a little more involved than that, but it’s all about being the only one to survive. That can make it a little hard on a champion and that will be the case this time around.

This week on Monday Night Raw, the returning Shane McMahon and WWE official Adam Pearce announced that Drew McIntyre will defend the WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber. All of McIntyre’s challengers will be former WWE Champions, with AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus also participating. Sheamus vs. McIntyre had been announced as the next title match but no date had ever been announced.

Opinion: Works for me. This is the kind of match that the show needs and it’s a lot better than having a #1 contenders match or one of the lower level titles on the line. I’m not completely convinced that McIntyre retains the title and that is a great thing to see going into the pay per view. You don’t get that kind of feeling very often and hopefully the match lives up to the hype.
