It’s a second career. Over the years, wrestlers have tried their hand at acting with hit and miss results. Of course there is the Rock, but how many wrestlers have gotten lucky to land some parts in some B movies and little more? Acting is the kind of thing that doesn’t often work for everyone but sometimes you find some success. Another top level wrestler is trying their hand and seems to be getting somewhere.
Back in January, Edge made a shocking return to the ring after nine years on the shelf due to a neck injury. Edge returned to the ring in the Royal Rumble and then went on to defeat Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania 36. It was clear that Edge was back in the ring, but what about his fairly successful acting career? That is going to be doing well, with a new movie premiering in the near future.
According to Deadline.com, Edge’s new movie Money Plane will be released on digital platforms on July 10. The film, which also stars Kelsey Grammer and Denise Richards, stars Edge as a professional thief who has to rob an airborne casino to pay off a debt and save his family’s lives. Edge has focused on his acting career since retirement, appearing in television series like Haven and Vikings, plus a handful of films.
The movie has potential. Check out a behind the scenes look:

Opinion: Good for Edge. I have no idea if this movie is going to be a success, but Edge is at least trying and getting his name out there, even in lower level movies like this. You have to start somewhere, and while his career might never make him a movie star, he’s succeeding more than some people would and that is better than nothing. How many other wrestlers get to star in something like this with some name actors?
