Their new/old home? One of the biggest wrestling stories of the year so far has been the massive round of releases from WWE back in April. In less than three days, WWE released over two dozen active wrestlers, which is the biggest round of releases ever to take place in such a short time span. Some of those wrestlers were going to wind up somewhere, and now we may know where.

One of the biggest reasons the situation was so controversial was due to the Coronavirus changing the way the wrestling world works. With so many wrestling companies not being able to run live events, a lot of these wrestlers were not going to have a place to go. That did not make WWE look great in the whole situation, but now some of the wrestlers may have found a new home.

This week on Impact Wrestling, an ad for this year’s Slammiversary aired. The ad included a clip of an unidentified wrestler in a hoodie watching a report about the WWE releases. Also included were clips of Eric Young, Mike and Maria Kanellis, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, Drake Maverick, EC3 and Curt Hawkins from their time in Impact Wrestling. There is no word on which of these names will be appearing at the show. Slammiversary airs on pay per view on Saturday July 18.

Well that’s interesting. Check out the ad for the show:

Opinion: While I can’t imagine that Impact Wrestling is going to bring in all of these wrestlers, they clearly have a big name planned and that is a good thing for the company. There were a lot of talented stars on that list and Impact Wrestling is certainly a place to go for a lot of them. Several of the names on the list have a deep history with Impact Wrestling and it would be nice to see them continue that. It’s better than sitting at home doing nothing right?
