So that’s how it was going to go. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Cedric Alexander dressed up as a masked janitor to help Roman Reigns fight against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. This was quite the questionable move as McIntyre kicked Alexander in the head and McMahon got the pin. If this seems a little off, it’s because it wasn’t the original plan for the match.
According to PWInsider Elite by way of 411mania.com, the original plans called for an extra performer to play the role instead of Alexander, seemingly with the same ending to the match. There is no word on why Alexander was put into the spot instead. However, there is a chance that there will be some form of followup to the angle, with McMahon and McIntyre doing something else with Alexander in the near future.
What a random ending. Check out how the match went down:
Opinion: I’m still not sure I get the point of having Alexander pop up under the mask and then be the one who goes out there and takes the fall. If you don’t want to have him win the match then fine, but what’s the point in putting him out there, have him get in a good showing, and then lose? I’m not sure how that helps anyone but McMahon, which has been an issue for a long time now.
