Celebrity time? Celebrities have been a part of the wrestling world for years now and that is going to be the case for a long time to come. It makes perfect sense too: take someone who is famous elsewhere and put them into the wrestling world to see what happens. That is the kind of thing that can go in a lot of different ways and now we might be able to see it again.
During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Torrie Wilson told Angel Garza that singer Cardi B. was in a room waiting to meet him but Garza ran into the Boogeyman instead, allowing R-Truth to win the 24/7 Title back. You can’t name drop a celebrity like that though and it turns out that a lot of fans are interested in the idea of Cardi B. in WWE. It might be a bit mutual.
WWE has released a video looking at the Cardi B. mention on Monday Night Raw. Cardi B. then responded to some fans on Twitter, talking about how she was a wrestling fan and praising some of the women of WWE. The tweets talked about Sasha Banks, Melina and Trish Stratus among others. Some of the women responded to her, with Cardi B. later saying she was on her way to WrestleMania.

Opinion: I’m not sure I can imagine this going anywhere, but there is something interesting about WWE mentioning Cardi B. by name and the immediate followup. I get that she was responding to a bunch of surprise tweets, but it’s a little odd for WWE to mention a modern celebrity’s name on their show like this. Then again, she wasn’t the only name mentioned so maybe it’s just a coincidence. WWE would be a little crazy to not try and get her in for WrestleMania in some form though.
