That will be different. Cinematic matches have added a new dimension to wrestling, as they allow wrestling companies to do something completely different than before. Rather than having to have the same traditional thing over and over, a match can now be filmed in advance with the company having full control over everything. We might be seeing another one, with a bit of a twist.

One of the stories that flew under the radar last week was Impact Wrestling’s Ethan Page becoming a free agent. The change put an impressive name on the open market and someone was going to be able to sign a talented wrestler. However, it did not mean that we would be seeing the end of him on Impact Wrestling, as he had some material taped in advance. Now we some what part of that is.

During this week’s Impact Wrestling, a match was announced for Hard To Kill between Page and Karate Man, a character also played by Page. As a result, this will have to be a cinematic match and will likely serve as Page’s final appearance with the company, unless he has signed a new deal to remain with Impact Wrestling. Hard To Kill takes place on Saturday, January 16.

Opinion: This should be interesting and I think that’s a good thing. The Karate Man stuff is funny enough, even if it might not be for everyone. Having a cinematic match is the only realistic way to do something like this and if that is where Impact is going at the pay per view, we should be in for a fun match. Page has sold the heck out of the character and it would be a fitting way for him to go out, assuming it is his big finale.
