Bubba Ray Dudley Teases Royal Rumble Appearance

Maybe he won’t need D-Von to draw his number. After suggesting that he might not really be gone from WWE, Bubba Ray Dudley is now teasing an appearance in the 2017 Royal Rumble. On Twitter, Dudley was asked when his Bully Ray persona might make another appearance. His response was to “remember the Alamo”, which is in San Antonio, Texas, the same city as “Royal Rumble 2017”.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Dudley made a big appearance in a Royal Rumble match. Back in 2015, Dudley made a surprise entrance at #3, drawing one of the loudest ovations of the night from the Philadelphia crowd. After lasting a little over five minutes and eliminating two other entrants, Dudley was eliminated third overall. The Dudley Boyz would return full time about eight months later and stick around for about a year.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. The Dudley Boyz are always going to get a good reaction from their entrance alone and Bubba Ray is the better talker and more charismatic of the team. While San Antonio wasn’t exactly an ECW town, having him come back just five months after leaving would get a nice reaction. It would be even more interesting if he came back in the Bully Ray persona, which has never appeared in WWE but was successful in TNA.
