Not exactly the biggest surprise. Over the last few weeks on “Smackdown Live”, Bray Wyatt’s “Wrestlemania XXXIII” opponent has been in question. First it was Randy Orton, then it was either Luke Harper or AJ Styles, then it was either Orton or Styles. After tonight though, we have a definitive answer as to who will be challenging Wyatt for the title at the biggest show of the year. Let’s get to it.
This week on “Smackdown Live”, Orton defeated Styles to officially become the #1 contender for Bray Wyatt’s Smackdown World Title. This comes a week after Orton burned Wyatt’s barn down and leaves Styles with nothing to do at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”. Opinion: You had to know this one was coming and it was hardly the biggest shocker. This was a pretty easily predicted match all the way back in 2016 when Orton joined Wyatt in the first place. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing though as the match should be good and could help solidify Wyatt as a main event player going forward.
