Big Show Gets Some Bad News

It was nice while it lasted. Wrestlers have a difficult time breaking into mainstream acting roles. They may be athletes but at the same time they are often not the most talented actors in the world. Every now and then you find someone who can make it work though, and that was the case with one certain WWE star who has some of the most unique physical features in the world.

There are very few wrestlers who can match up physically with the Big Show. There are only so many wrestlers who can come close to his 7’2 and 400lb+ frame. At the same time though, Big Show has shown some abilities outside of the ring, including a bit of success in acting. That is more than most wrestlers can say, but unfortunately Big Show can now say what several actors have been told over the years as well.

According to Deadline.com, Netflix has canceled the Big Show Show after one season. The show, which featured eight episodes and a yet to be aired holiday special, debuted on April 6 and featured Big Show playing a fictionalized version of himself. There was no reason given for the show’s cancellation. Big Show last wrestled on the July 20 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: Honestly I can’t say I’m surprised as the show was only so good. You can’t get very far with a rather thin premise that is geared towards younger fans but it wasn’t too bad for what it was. The most important deal though was Big Show getting a series built around him in the first place. How many wrestlers can say that? Even if it has been canceled, one season is better than a lot of wrestlers manage to get.
