Feast and famine. The women’s division has come a long way in recent years and a lot of expansion has taken place. This includes the introduction of Women’s Tag Team Titles, which have offered a lot more depth to the division. There are various teams who can fight for the titles, but after this week, one of them will not be having the chance to do that any longer.

There are a few wrestlers in any company who seem to fit better in a tag team, to the point where it is almost all they have done. These teams can be some of the best in wrestling because they feel like they belong together rather than throwing two singles wrestlers together to make a team. One of each were in action on Monday and it only went well for one of them.

This week on Monday Night Raw, the IIconics were defeated by the Riott Squad. Due to the stipulations of the match, the Riott Squad receives a future Tag Team Title shot while the IIconics were forced to split up forever. There is no word on when the Riott Squad will receive their shot against the new champions Nia Jax/Shayna Baszler. This will be the first time the IIconics have been split up since their main roster debut in 2018.

Leave the memories alone. Check out the IIconics’ history:

Opinion: I’m not sure I get the idea here as the IIconics are not exactly a team that seems to have the strongest legs apart. Granted there might be something else involved in the idea as you could have the two of them desperate to get back together because they need each other, but I’m not completely convinced that’s where WWE is going. It’s a questionable move, but maybe they have a plan.

What do you think of the split? What is next for both teams? Let us know in the comments below.
