Mama….wait where’s Mama Mia? Commentary is such an important part of wrestling. The commentary booth is responsible for being the fan’s guide to the show. Why is this happening? Who are these people? What’s going on in the ring that I don’t understand and why should I care? That’s where commentary comes into play and NXT has some of the best around. The trio of Mauro Ranallo, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuinness have formed a great chemistry and can put together some great calls for some of NXT’s greatest moments. However, that won’t be the case this Saturday.

You can always have some more Ranallo in your life.

Mauro Ranallo's priceless reactions to NXT TakeOver: New Orleans

According to his Twitter account, Ranallo will not be doing commentary on this Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Chicago II special due to a previous commitment to Showtime Boxing. Ranallo will be replaced by Vic Joseph, who currently does commentary on both 205 Live and Main Event, in both instances along with Watson and McGuinness, the former of whom joined the teams earlier this year. This will be Joseph’s first time calling a Takeover.

Opinion: It’s a shame that Ranallo won’t be around to call the show but Joseph is easily acceptable as a replacement. He’s a completely competent announcer and someone who has experience not only with the WWE commentary style but also with the two people he’ll be with on Saturday. I could easily see Joseph moving up to the main roster whenever Michael Cole or Tom Phillips steps aside and that’s something he’s earned in a short span of time.

Do you like Joseph’s commentary? Would you like to hear him on commentary full time on the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
