It’s more bad news. When the history books are written, Wrestlemania 36 is going to have as many asterisks next to it as any wrestling event of all time. There was almost nothing about the show and it really is one of the most unique shows to ever be presented. WWE made sure that it was going to take place, though some of the results are not as popular as others.
WrestleMania 36 took place during the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak. The situation has not entirely been kind to the entertainment industry as a lot of people just are not feeling the interest in doing something fun at the moment. That includes wrestling, which has not exactly seen the most positive reactions to some of their recent shows. It seems to be the case again with WrestleMania.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this year’s WrestleMania registered far fewer Google searches than previous years. The show was expected to generate approximately 2-3 million Google searches. Instead, Night One drew about one million searches while Night Two drew about 270,000. By comparison, last year’s AEW Double Or Nothing event drew about 220,000 Google searches.
The show did have some positive notes. Check out what went took place during the event:
Opinion: None of those numbers are exactly good but the fascinating part is the drop between Night One and Night Two. The fans just stopped caring on the second part and the numbers plummeted as a result. I don’t know if it was seeing the matches they wanted on Saturday or just not liking the show’s presentation, but that is a nasty fall and something that WWE is going to need to address in the future.
