I’d say he’s worth the interest. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today but there are only a few who truly qualify as legends. Some names are just going to get interest no matter what they do because they are just that good. That isn’t the kind of talent you can produce at the drop of a hat and that makes it valuable. Someone’s value was tested last year.

Back in January, Edge made a pretty shocking return to the ring in the 2020 Royal Rumble. The match marked Edge first in-ring appearance in nearly nine years after a neck injury seemed to end his career all at once. The comeback was real though and it turns out that there was quite the interesting behind the scenes situation which could have changed where Edge wound up.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge was heavily recruited by both AEW and WWE before finally signing with WWE. Edge’s contract is reportedly worth $3 million total, which went above and beyond what AEW offered him. There is no word on AEW’s offer, but McMahon went much higher as he would not risk losing Edge. A major part of Edge’s decision was being able to return to the ring, and he may have been cleared all the way back in August, when he speared Elias at Summerslam.

Edge made a long comeback. Check out how he got all the way to WrestleMania:

Opinion: As a long time Edge fan, this is something that makes me smile quite a bit. You don’t get to see someone return to the ring after that long of an absence and Edge getting to return to the ring was great to see. I’m not sure how long Edge is going to be in the ring but the amount of money that he is making combined with getting to do what he loves again is about as cool as you can get.
