Hopefully this is a one time only thing. According to PWInsider.com, AJ Styles was pulled from the Smackdown house show last night in Tyler, Texas. Styles injured his ankle in his tables, ladders and chairs match against Dean Ambrose at Sunday’s “Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2016” pay per view.

The timing isn’t great as Styles is due to defend the Smackdown World Title against James Ellsworth on tonight’s episode of “Smackdown Live”. The report describes Styles being pulled as a precaution so maybe the injury isn’t all that bad. If nothing else, the title match could be postponed or booked to protect the injury.

Based on these indications, it doesn’t seem like the injury is that severe. At the end of the day, pulling Styles from a single house show because of a bad ankle isn’t the worst thing in the world. The match with Ellsworth is probably going to be more of an angle than a match anyway so they can use some smoke and mirrors to take care of a lot of the problems.

If Styles has to miss any significant time, what should happen to the title? Do you think there’s any chance Ellsworth wins the title tonight? Let us know in the comments below.
