It was recently confirmed that legendary commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross would be departing WWE yet again. He has now opened up about that departure.

Ross initially confirmed he would be ending his relationship with WWE amicably during his podcast. The commentator had returned to WWE during WrestleMania 33 and was used sparingly throughout this run with the company.

In a definitive message to his Instagram account, Ross reminded his followers that there is no animosity between he and WWE. Rather, he is grateful for everything the company and, in particular, Vince McMahon has done for him. It is, quite simply, time for him to move on to the next chapter.

He had the following to say:

“Sad to see how some are looking for “dirt” as to why I will no longer be with WWE. WWE and I are parting ways with no animosity.

As I said on my podcast on Westwood One, I can’t thank Vince McMahon enough for how he looked over Jan and me for the last 25+ years. I will be forever grateful.

I look forward to the next chapter of my life.  Working on our next book with Paul O’Brien. (You can still order SLOBBERKNOCKER on Amazon now). And join me at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC April 6th. Can’t wait to see all of you great fans there. Visit www.GothamComedyClub.com for more info.”

The post, as you can see below, includes three pictures. They showcase the WWE logo, an advertisement for his upcoming appearance at the Gotham Comedy Club, and the associated picture to his podcast.

You can see a classic segment involving Ross and Eric Bischoff in the video below. In the segment, Ross quits WWE after refusing to apologize to Bischoff.

Editor’s Note:

It really does suck that Ross is leaving. I’m sure he’ll do great in whatever he does next.

What do you think Ross will do next? Are you attending his show for Gotham Comedy Club?
