The Shield headlined WWE Fastlane in what was likely their final appearance together on the WWE stage before Dean Ambrose reportedly leaves the company. At the same time, it appears a former star was backstage. Could they be making a return?
According to Mike Johnson over at PWInsider, Shad Gaspard of the Cryme Tyme tag team was backstage at WWE Fastlane. Gaspard worked in the company for numerous years- both as a singles and tag team competitor with JTG.
Given WWE is looking to put more effort into tag team wrestling, it is possible Gaspard was back to talk discussions on a return. That said, there could be many reasons for Gaspard being backstage at Fastlane. He could be catching up or in talks for some other position within the company.
At this time, we have no further information as to what Gaspard will do- if anything at all. The post-Fastlane edition of RAW will take place in Pittsburgh. Depending on what happens here, there may be a further indication of what does happen with the former star.
Stay tuned to Wrestling Rumors for any potential updates on what does happen with Gaspard.
Editor’s Note:
I would love to see JTG and Gaspard back. I enjoyed Fastlane and had no idea Gaspard was backstage. Cryme Tyme was great. They’d be an awesome return for the company- though I don’t see them being involved in anything major or game-changing. I could be wrong.
Do you want to see Gaspard come back? Do you think he will? Did you like Cryme Tyme?
