2018 has got off to a very rocky start for WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, who returned to ‘Raw‘ last night only to be potentially injured during his match.

Amore missed the first ‘Raw’ of 2018 as he was suffering from the flu and had to be taken to the emergency room. This led to his both his WWE Cruiserweight Championship match against Cedric Alexander being postponed and his removal from the ‘WWE Mixed Match Challenge.’

Last night saw the return of Amore, where he competed in his scheduled match against Alexander. While Amore retained the Championship during the match due to count-out, there is a bigger story at play.

During the match, the champion was hit with a Springboard kick by the challenger in Alexander which busted open the area around Amore’s left eye.

From there, Amore continued to fight and was taken to the outside where Alexander dove onto him over the top rope, causing the champ to land awkwardly on his leg. This ultimately led to Alexander’s count-out victory which meant that Amore retained his Championship.

It is unknown how real the leg injury is due to Amore’s actions towards the end of the match. This saw him make it to the ropes at a count of nine but purposely fall down so he didn’t make it in by the count of ten. However, the eye injury is most certainly real.

From here, Amore would receive stiches on an episode of ‘Raw Fallout’ where Amore explained how rough 2018 has been for him so far and potentially having to go to get x-rays done on his leg. He does seem legitimately mad in the video.

You can see Amore receiving the stitches and explaining his issues in the video below.

Wrestling Rumors will continue to update you on his status if things continue to develop negatively with his condition.

The Cruiserweight Champion recently spoke about wanting Neville to return to WWE and compete again. You can see his comments hear.

Do you think he really did injure his leg? Is this karma for the reported disrespect he showed in 2017?
