It could be awesome. Last year, Miz took several steps towards becoming one of the best and most decorated Intercontinental Champions of all time. He won his seventh Intercontinental Title to put him only two back of Chris Jericho’s record while also winding up less than 100 days away from Pedro Morales’ all time record for combined days as champion. As it turns out, he might have a chance to get several steps closer to both of those records.

This week on “Monday Night Raw”, General Manager Kurt Angle agreed to give Miz his rematch for the Intercontinental Title at the upcoming “Monday Night Raw” 25th Anniversary Show on January 22. Miz lost the title to Reigns on November 20 before leaving for the next several weeks to film a movie.

The Miz is back and maybe better than ever.

The Miz reveals his plans for 2018: Raw, Jan. 8, 2018

Opinion: I’m all for Miz getting more time as champion as he really does make the belt feel all that more important. However, after he gets the record for most days, I’d like to see him shift towards the main event. When you have one or both of those records, there really isn’t much more to do with the title and it’s time to see what else he can do. If another main event run doesn’t work then fine, but at least give him a shot.
