There is a report circulating by PWInsider.com stating that “Rowdy” Roddy Piper remains very interested in facing Hulk Hogan in some capacity at WrestleMania XXX. However, the report states that the match could still take place, but in tag team format.
Moreover, word is that should a tag match take place, Piper would want to serve as a heel in the match, and if he had his choice of tag team partner, would want to work with CM Punk. John Cena, on the other hand, would tag alongside Hogan. Piper made reference to CM Punk’s talent at “Old School Raw” earlier this month during his segment with The Shield.
As mentioned earlier, it is possible that the entire WrestleMania I main event could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and a match of some sort would tie this altogether.
The issue with this, as PWinsider says, is that Punk turned face just over half a year ago after a lengthy run as a bad guy. Because of this, it is said that it is unlikely that WWE has any interest in turning him against the crowd once more. Punk has been involved in a storyline with The Authority as of late, and was turned on by the New Age Outlaws this past Monday on Raw.
It has long been rumored that Punk is penciled in for a WrestleMania match with Triple H, though this still remains to be seen.
