Based on what we hear about WWE’s backstage operations, we can’t shake the feeling that the company runs things a little ramshackle, and half of their creative decisions on any given day are made entirely spur-of-the-moment.
That feeling certainly isn’t helped by interviews like this. Alexa Bliss, who recently transitioned from SmackDown to Monday Night Raw, told Fox Sports she had basically no advanced notice that she’d be changing brands.
“I found out pretty much that morning. The night before we got travel, and were going to be able to travel where Raw was. I wasn’t sure if they were bringing people in to kind of throw us off or if we were actually being drafted to Raw.”
Alexa also shared a bit on entering the red brand’s locker room for the first time. “I definitely was the new kid. Walking in, everyone’s already kind of had their place there. I’m just coming in, brand new, first day of school. Everything’s about first impressions, so just making sure I make a good first impression on people.”
We’d been hearing for months that AJ Styles and Roman Reigns would be flipping brands, and based on backstage reports this week it seems those rumors were true–up until the very last minute when WWE changed its mind.
