At a recent special NXT taping, Finn Balor made his first appearance on a WWE show in quite some time, and even got in a little physical action. This has some fans wondering if his stay on the main roster would be a one-night stand.
The answer is a resounding no. Finn is advertised for Raw shows in the very near future, and a recent report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio made clear there are absolutely no plans for a brand switch.
So what got people speculating in the first place?
As reported, the NXT taping at the University of Central Florida saw Finn run in to save Shinsuke Nakamura from a beatdown by Andrade “Cien” Almas and Bobby Roode. It seems some folks took this as set-up for a future storyline for Finn back in NXT.
But that segment appears to have been a dark one, not filmed for broadcast. So while WWE did provide footage of the run-in via social media, it won’t be part of the TV show going forward.
Finn had been the anchor of NXT for a long time, but loyalty to the yellow brand now that he’s recognized as the first-ever Universal Champion would be misplaced.
