Fans in the arena for Raw on Monday night had a surreal experience when the Rock decided to call CM Punk in the middle of the ring after the show went off the air. There was no small share of controversy backstage over the call, but Rock himself discussed the decision on Twitter this morning.
In case you missed it, Raw was being used as the set for a scene in the upcoming film about Paige and her family.
Rock came out to set the scene, introducing Thea Trinidad as AJ Lee.
Naturally, the name of Mrs. Phil Brooks brought out the CM Punk chants, and in an effort to fire up the crowd–presumably so they’d look good on screen–Rock busted out his cell phone and started dialing Punk’s number.
I work off instinct, always listen to the people and try to give em something special. Huge positive feedback from @WWE Universe. Fun night https://t.co/4AZFOMFqPw

The officials backstage including Vince McMahon were obviously unhappy about it, what could they do? Attempting to cut of Rocky would’ve elicited a riotously negative response from the crowd.
Filming for the movie had a funny effect the next night on SmackDown, when the blue brand was briefly dressed up as Raw for a post-show dark segment.
Do you think Rock will be feeling any heat from the segment? I mean–he is the Rock. Let us know what you think in the comments, or on Facebook!
